Weekend in Tahoe

This past weekend we had our first trip away from home. We spent two nights at our family cabin in South Lake Tahoe with my parents. We had a wonderful time...the weather was perfect and Kate did really well being away from home. It was wonderful having extra sets of hands to hold Kate while I napped and showered. Will and I even got to go for a walk on our own! It was a fantastic weekend!

Cousins and birthdays

On Friday my sister and her 4 kids came by for a visit. Here is a picture of Chloe (2.5 years) and Andrew (5 years) with Kate. They are all so cute!

Saturday was my 27 birthday and to wish me a happy birthday, Kate slept 5 straight hours in the night! Kate was also such a good sport at Courntee's shower that afternoon. There was very little crying even though we were away from home for 4 hours. She made my birthday a very happy one. I have to give credit to Will, though, since he has a calming effect over Kate. There is something about daddys and their daughters.

Sorry this picture is coming to you one day late. It has been a crazy week since Will went back to work on Monday. Needless to say, Kate and I have been trying to figure out how to make it through the day without Daddy. So far so good (except for yesterday morning's meltdown). This is the only picture we have to post this week since we have had no time to take any pictures. It is amazing how the simplest things like taking a shower and going for a walk can require so much effort when Will is not around. I am pretty lucky if I get to brush my teeth by 1:00pm. She is worth it though!

Happy 5 Years!

Today is our 5-year anniversary. On August 7, 2004 at 3:00pm we were married in the Davis Community Church. Following the ceremony we had our reception at University Covenant Church where Buckhorn catered a delicious buffet dinner. The next morning we headed to Kauai for a wonderful honeymoon. These past five years have been amazing! The time really has flown by, but I guess that is because we definitely married our sole mates!
