Tahoe: Day 2

We are rounding out our second day in Tahoe.  This morning we discovered the Pretty Pretty Princess game in the basement.  Kate has played it at least 20 times already.  Will and Kate were both Pretty Pretty Princesses this morning. ;-)

 After lunch we headed to Minden, Neveda to the Carson Valley Aquatic Center.  Kate and Will swam for a couple of hours while Maggie took a nap in my arms.  Kate is getting REALLY good at freestyle (for a 3.5-yr-old).

 We purchased an inflatable boat yesterday at CVS...we hope to take it out on the lake tomorrow before we head home.  The girls are very excited!

Tahoe: Day 1

We have had a wonderful first day at our Tahoe cabin.  This has been a wonderful escape from the crazy Davis heat.  Today we explored around the cabin, went to the lake for lunch and let the girls play at McDonald's on the way back to the cabin.  A great start to a great trip!

Bowling!

Will had the day off of work today and since it was raining we needed to find a fun activity to do inside so we went bowling!  We have never taken the girls before and we had a wonderful time!.  We arrived at the UC Davis MU an hour before bowling opened (oops!) so we spent our time looking at water fountains around the UCD campus and eating brownies at the Coffee House.  

 Thankfully we were able to utilize bumpers and ramps to help the girls (and Mommy) bowl well. :-)

Sesame Street Live

Sesame Street Live came to Sacramento and so I treated the girls to a fun-filled afternoon filled with huge Sesame Street characters and tons of music and dance.  Gramma joined us for the fun.  It was a great show and the girls seemed to love it!

June Happenings

Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks.  

I let the girls finger paint outside one morning.  Kate enjoyed getting messy with the paint but also playing with the soapy bubbles when it was time to clean-up.

 For Father's Day, the girls made Will a couple of stepping stones.  They really enjoyed mixing the cement and decorating the tiles.

 We bought a new car!!!  After many years of needing a bigger car for the kids we finally took the plunge and bought a new Toyota Sienna.  I LOVE it!!!

 Kate has been taking swim lessons for the past several weeks.  She loves the water and loves the pool!

Sister kisses

Kate and Maggie love each other so much!  It is so fun to watch them play together.  Maggie follows everything Kate does and Kate doesn't seem to mind.  Of course there are always some sharing and space issues but for the most part they get along really well.

Berry Picking

The morning the girls and I joined our friends at Impossible Acres for some berry picking.  The girls were big helpers and helped me pick olallieberries, marionberries, strawberries, plums, peaches and nectarines.  Yummy!

Last day of school....

Our first year of school came to an end today. It is very sad to be done with the Bouncy Bears class but we are excited for pre-kindergarten next year (at the same school).  This past year has been super special with tons of fun, making great friends and learning about God's love.  

 After school ended we had a picnic at the church with our classmates.

 The best part about school is that Kate made a best friend named Nicholas.  He is the sweetest boy!  They talk about getting married some day...it is too cute!

 Our Bouncy Bear teachers...Ms. Beth and Ms. Kim.  They were so wonderful!  So loving, patient and kind with Kate and all the kids.  We will really miss them (though we will see them on Sunday's at church).
