Camp Gramma: Pony Day

On Tuesday, Chloe and Kate were treated to another amazing Camp Gramma field trip.  This time they traveled to a local horse stable to learn about caring for and riding on ponies.  Both girls were taught how to properly groom and care for the pony.  At the end of their lesson both girls were given a ride on the pony...they were so thrilled!

Chloe and Kate got to wear special riding boots!
Kate did a great job brushing Shasta's coat!

The girls were learning about how to properly saddle the pony.
Time to go for a ride!
Cousin Chloe rode Shasta first.  She did a great job steering the pony.  She even learned how to gallop!
Kate loved every moment on the pony...notice the huge smile on her face!

Maggie was hanging out with Gramma while Big Sis was riding.
 Silly Maggie!

It was such a fun and memorable experience!

Tutu Babies

Below are pictures of our girls wearing the same tutu at 10 months of age.  They have the same, adorable smile but that is where their similarities seem to stop.  They are both too cute!!!

Camp Gramma: Tilden Park

Camp Gramma has officially begun!  My mom has been hosting Camp Gramma for her grandchildren for many years now and this year is Kate's first year to join in on the fun.  She and cousin Chloe are having their own special "girly" Camp Gramma based on God's creation. (The older boys are having their own Camp Gramma based on robotics.)  My mom has special activities, crafts and field trips that focus on each year's theme that is based on scripture from the Bible.  So far Kate has learned some really fun songs, painted a cat figurine, colored animal pictures and recently went on a field trip to Tilden Park in Berkeley.  Maggie and I got to tag along for the field trip and had a wonderful time at the animal farm, carousel and little train.  Below are pictures from our trip.

My mom created matching t-shirts for the girl's to wear during Camp Gramma.
Feeding celery to a very hungry cow.  The cow was very large and Kate needed a little help from Gramma to reach his mouth.

Kate's favorite part of the farm was feeding the goats.

The weather and scenery was beautiful!

 Happy Maggie!

Kate spent the entire train ride holding her ears since we sat right by the train engine and the whistle was very loud!
Chloe and Kate went on a second train ride and road in the caboose and enjoyed the quiet from the train whistle.  It was a very fun day.  The girls were so well behaved and they had such a wonderful time with Gramma!

Walter and Robyn's Wedding

This past weekend we celebrated the wedding of Walter (Will's older brother) and Robyn's wedding.  The wedding took place at a beautiful vineyard in the hills of Suisun Valley.  Kate was an amazing flower girl...she actually made it down the aisle, though she was complaining about sand in her sandals.  Will was a best man and gave a fantastic best man speech that people were singing his praises for.  Maggie held up well despite having very little sleep.  My mom came along to help me with Maggie during the ceremony/pictures which was a huge blessing.  All in all, it was a wonderful wedding and the girls did an amazing job lasting through the whole whirlwind of weekend events.  I am so proud of them!
Waiting to go down the aisle.
Kate made it to the front!
 The beautiful bride and groom.

Kate made friends with the other flower girl, Sadie.  She danced and played with Sadie all night long.  It is too bad they live all the way in New York!
 Dedushka dancing with the girls.

This past week...

Ballerina Kate
(Thanks Gramma for the tutu!)

This is why we don't go to the public library with Maggie anymore...books all on the floor!

Kate earned a trip to the frozen yogurt place the other day for doing such an amazing job potty training.  Every time Kate took a bite of her treat she would exclaim "brr, this is cold!"
