Pool Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are taking the "plunge" and getting a pool!!!  This has been in the works since September and construction finally started this week.  Yes, our yard is small and yes, our yard will mainly be consumed by a pool.  Will and I thought this through very thoroughly. BUT there are 3 main reasons why we are okay with a pool for a yard...#1: we love to swim, #2: we hate to garden and #3: we have a park at the end of our cul-de-sac if we want to kick around a ball, etc.

Here is the progress (or mess) in this first week.  The project should be completed in 2 months.

Before:

Day 1: Demolition....lots of taking out plants and removing concrete.  The jack-hammer was very loud!

Our front lawn is now getting chewed up, we have a port-a-potty in our driveway and we did have 4 HUGE piles of plants in the street.  It is messy but oh, so worth it!

Day 2 & 3: Dig out roots and continue to remove the old.  We have 3 Bob Cats working the job!

Our side yard is their roadway so we had to temporarily remove the AC unit to make more space.

Day 4: Map out the pool and start to dig it out!

The wood perimeter indicates the pool's edge.

More to come ext week....

Playland in Dixon

Last month I won 6 free passes to an indoor play-place in Dixon from our preschool's BUNCO raffle.  The place is called Playland and unfortunately it is closing business on March 30.  We took Gramma with us to watch the girls play for nearly 2.5 hours.  Playland has several various themed areas such a pirates, construction, kitchen, firefighting, grocery store and dress-up.  The girls spent most of their time dressing-up and being goofy.  It is too bad Playland is closing but at least we had fun using our free pass.

My Maggie

The past few posts have been about Kate so I figured I needed to add a little more Maggie! :-)

These pictures were taken with my phone this past month.  She is such a beautiful, quirky, silly little girl and I love her so incredibly much!

Goofy goggles

Maggie's fairy-wing outfit was picked out all by herself.

The Rock Slinger and His Greatest Hit performance

The Rock Slinger and His Greatest Hit

The Kid's Choir at our church is putting on their annual musical next weekend.  This year's production is called "The Rock Slinger and His Greatest Hit."  Kate has been loving her time practicing for the 2 performances.  This past Sunday the kids sang one of their songs at all 4 church services.  They are ready and excited for next week!
