Annual Student Concert: Dance Performance

Kate and Maggie just wrapped up an exhausting week of dance recital fun.   This is our 4th year participating in the Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop Student Concert.  All week long the girls participated in tech-nights and dress rehearsals and then ended the weekend with 3 performances.  Kate was a tapping cat, dancing to a song from Disney's Aristocats.  Maggie was a ballet sunbeam and a contemporary kitten.  (Videos are posted below in 3 consecutive posts.)

Kate was an adorable orange cat for her tap dance.

Maggie was a radiant sunbeam for her ballet dance.

Kate's tap class

This was Maggie's first year dancing in the pre-contemporary dance class.  Her class put on an adorable Kitten and Mice dance.

My 2 beautiful cats!

We were excited to have Gramma (and Papa) come to the performances!

Maggie's best friend, Caitlin, was also a cat, but for a different ballet class.  There were a lot of cats!
It was another fun year.  It is sad to see it come to an end but excited for the next years to follow!

Maggie's Contemporary Dance Class: Kittens and Mice

It is that time of year again for our annual dance recital!  This is our fourth year participating and each year we all look forward to this very busy but incredibly fun weekend.  This year Maggie is participating in a ballet dance as a sunbeam and a contemporary dance as a kitten.  Kate is in her fourth year as our awesome tapper and her class is performing a complicated dance to "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat."  Please enjoy the following 3 videos. :-)

We are getting a puppy!

Our family has been discussing getting a pet since this past fall.  We initially agreed that we would get a kitten since they would be soft and cuddly but less maintenance than a dog.  We even bought all the supplies for our future kitten and were only days away from adopting one when we discovered Maggie was quite allergic to cats.  We were all devastated to discover we couldn't get a cat.  Well, after that, we started the long and difficult discussion about getting a dog.  Our gut reaction was "Definitely not!  Been there, done that, not again!"  However, after I did hours and hours of research, we found an amazing breed of dog that seemed perfect for our family, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  Now it still was a very difficult decision to get all family members on board and to feel very confident in the decision to take the plunge into dog-ownership again, but we eventually all came around to realizing it would be a fun and wonderful adventure for our family.  In January we found the perfect breeder and on March 31, 2017 our puppy was born.

Last weekend, we got to meet our 4-week old puppy in Auburn, along with her 4 other siblings.  They were all too cute!!!

We can't wait to bring Penelope home on June 10th!
