It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

We have been on Thanksgiving vacation this past week and we have spent most of our time in the house, crafting and getting ready for Christmas.

This year we kept our tree hunting very easy and went to our local grocery store since Will has had to work all week.  We are quite pleased with our beautiful $39.99 Noble Fir we picked up!

Kate and Maggie were huge helpers with hanging the lights and ornaments.

The girls were really excited to hang their beautiful stockings.

This was Maggie's year to receive her special stocking from Gramma.  This stocking represents "Maggie's Moon" which is a very big deal in our house.  Gramma does an amazing job creating these incredibly special stockings!

Today we made pine cone Christmas trees with Gramma.  Gramma and Papa picked up a collection of pine cones for us in Tahoe for our fun art project. First we sprayed them all green.

Then we decorated the trees with glitter glue and pom-poms. Gramma even helped us decorate our pine cone Christmas trees!

We now have a beautiful collection of trees to decorate our house with!

A perfect Sunday

We just spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon in Old Sacramento.  We started off with a delicious lunch at Joe's Crab Shack and then walked on over to the California Train Museum.  The girls loved the museum and especially enjoyed the moving sleeper car.

The girls loved listening to the phones which told the story of the Empire train.

Upstairs the girls got to explore a huge collection of toy trains, including Thomas the Tank Engine.

Maggie took a lot of interest in the kitchen on the dining car.

Old Sacramento was all decorated for Christmas already!

After walking through Old Sacramento we ended up on the gold bridge...

...and exploring the river's edge.
It truly was a wonderful way to spend our Sunday before Thanksgiving.  I feel so blessed to have such an amazing husband and two amazing girls!

Halloween

Our Halloween day started off with Kate's last soccer game of the season.  The team celebrated with a pizza party afterwards.  Kate greatly enjoyed playing soccer again and being a part of the Golden Eagles team!

Kate's coaches recognized her amazing enthusiasm, positive attitude and surplus of energy.

The Golden Eagles

In the evening, the girls dressed up as mermaids to trick-or-treat around the neighborhood.

The girls trick-or-treated for 1.5 hours and filled their pumpkin buckets to the very top!  We had so much fun walking around our neighborhood and admiring all the spooky decorations.
