Fall Festival at Farmer's Market

Our local Farmer's Market held a Fall Festival this morning.  Gramma and I took the girls since Will had to work.  We started off with a pony ride.  Maggie had a hard time waiting her turn, but she was so excited to get on the littlest pony there!

There was an enormous inflatable black cat on the grass.  It's head and tail moved and really scared Maggie.
 Kate liked the big pumpkin!
There were several free crafts for the children to do.  Kate and Maggie both decorated their own Halloween masks.

Maggie got her face painted with a pumpkin.

Gramma made a beautiful flower crown for Kate.  Kate also dressed up in her Cinderella dress for the little costume parade at the festival.
We ran into our friends Lizzie and Luke at the festival.  They all walked in the parade together, holding hands.
 Merry-go-round fun!

My girls

Here are two random pictures of Kate and Maggie but they are just too cute!

Kate loves wearing my old ballet costumes, especially this tutu.  She loves to put on ballet shows for us...she takes it very seriously.
I found Maggie crammed into this doll crib.  She thought it was hilarious!

Babushka Visit

We had a very special visitor to our house on Friday...Babushka!!!  Babushka has not been to our house in about 7 years, but she has recently discovered that Davis has an awesome bus system that can transport her in her wheelchair.  She and her nurse, McKenna, came over Friday morning to tour our house, take a walk to the park and eat pumpkin bread.  It was such a wonderful treat to have her visit that we are going to try and make this a regular thing.

I took this picture the other day before Kate headed to school.  Kate was so excited to wear her special shirt Gigi gave her for her birthday.  She looked so cute in her knitted top and gained a lot of attention at school with her outfit.  Maggie was excited to give me a very BIG smile for the picture.

Impossible Acres Pumpkin Patch

Kate's class took their first field trip to Impossible Acres Pumpkin Patch.  The kids got to pick out their own pumpkins, play on hay bales, go through a maze, pet baby animals, and go on a tractor ride.  It was a wonderful and fun school trip!

Kate made sure to sit next to her best friend, Nicholas, for the school picture.

Kate is center, bottom row in this picture
Singing a song for the parents about Autumn leaves falling.
Kate found the biggest pumpkin she could carry!
The kittens are always Kate's favorite part
 Baby duck
 Little chick
The pony knocked Kate over right after this picture was taken.  Poor girl got so upset by the experience!
Kate's eyes are a bit red from crying after the pony experience, but she was still excited to pet the baby calf.

Rocket ship fun

Kate came up with a wonderful idea to turn old cardboard boxes into rocket ships.  It was her entire idea to paint the ships, glue buttons on the inside for a control panel and fly it around.  I love her creativity!

Kate refused to put down her lollipop for the picture but at lease you can see her enthusiasm!

Pumpkin patch fun!

Today we took a trip to a local pumpkin patch.  It was a very warm day, but we had a wonderful time picking out awesome pumpkins and going to the petting zoo.
Maggie insisted on picking a small pumpkin.  It was perfectly her size!
Kate picked a large pumpkin...too big for her to carry so we used a wagon to pull it.
Helping Daddy pick up his pumpkin.
 Happy with our pumpkin choices!
So many pumpkins to choose from!

The pumpkin patch had a petting zoo too, with chickens, rabbits, pigs, donkey, and ponies.
 Maggie gently petted the bunnies.
Kate's favorite animal was the small pony.  Maggie spent a lot of time with the pony too.
The goats were fun to pet.

We had a fun family trip out!

Rummage sale finds

Kate's preschool held its annual rummage sale on Saturday.  It was a huge success, but a TON of work.  I helped out the whole week leading up to it, organizing baby clothes, toys, housewares, etc.  On Friday night, I worked from 4:00-10:00, organizing and pricing items with 15 other people.  Our entire church parking lot was filled with amazing things to sell.  I was able to pick up two special items for the girls at the rummage sale.  Kate got a fun Razor scooter and Maggie got a "shopping cart".  We have spent the past day going up and down our street with our rummage sale finds.  Best $6 I ever spent! :-)
