More from May

Below are some pictures from this past week.  In the first picture Kate has been enjoying creating new characters with her soap bubbles.  Here she is trying to look like a poodle she saw in a book.
Maggie loves playing on Kate's bed, especially with Kate!

 Silly Kate face.
Maggie LOVES playing in Kate's tent/tunnel/ball pit.  She crawls inside and plays peek-a-boo with us and giggles like crazy!
We have had to set up pillows around Kate's potty to protect her from Maggie.  Maggie gets very interested in what Kate is doing while on the potty.  She tries to climb on her which makes Kate a little irritated.
Today we took a family trip to the Davis Arboretum.  Our favorite activity is to look at the horses but we also went for a little walk around the pond.
Notice Kate's cool binoculars?  We made them in the morning with old toilet paper rolls and construction paper.  Kate loved pretending to be Dora the Explorer with her cool binoculars.

Kate and Daddy went down to the edge of the dock to look for fish.

Kate found a really cool caterpillar and had to check it out with her binoculars.  Super cool!

Hanging out

Below are some pictures form the past few weeks.  Maggie is getting very good at lifting herself up to a supported stand.  She occasionally lets go and goes hands free.  Her favorite new activity is to push a little stroller all over the house and practice her walking.  I am predicting she will be walking by 10 months....she has the determination and no fear.

"Nakey buns!"  I couldn't resist taking this picture after her bath.
Kate has been working really hard on potty training this past week.  She has spent countless hours reading books and watching movies while on the potty.  She has successfully gone pee-pee in the potty every day this week.  We are so proud of her!

We have really been enjoying the wonderful weather this past week by spending a lot of time in our backyard.  We have been blowing lots of bubbles, splashing in the pool and drawing pictures with chalk.  It is so wonderful having a great backyard that is perfect for the girls!

Today Kate go to pick out 2 goldfish as a reward for all of the potty training success she has had.  She has named her fishes Nemo and Dorthy (after Elmo's pet fish).  She is very excited for her new pets.

Trip to Tahoe

We just got back from our annual bible study trip to our Tahoe family cabin.  We had a wonderful time hanging out with our friends and enjoying the beautiful, sunny weather.  Kate spent most of her time playing in the "secret room" with her friend, Hazel.  Maggie spent most of her time crawling around, exploring her new environment.

Kate loved spending time with her friend, Hazel.  Here they are taking a break from playing to watch a movie.
Will and Rusty checking some things out on the iPad.
 "Mmmmm, this remote is yummy!"
Baby Henry is the newest member of our group...the first boy!  He was enjoying taking a little nap on his mommy.
One of the highlights of our trip to Tahoe was our time at McDonald's.  I know that sounds pretty silly to say, but we really had a great time since Kate loved climbing all over the play place while Maggie slept most of the time.  The biggest point of fascination was the life-size Ronald McDonald.  Both Kate and Maggie were very amazed by him!

Sister Fun!

Now that Maggie is getting older (she is 8 months old!) she and Kate are having more and more fun playing together.  This morning Kate made a "picnic" for them on her bed.  Maggie LOVES climbing up onto Kate's bed and hanging out with her sister while munching on all the plastic food.

Kate gave me a lovely face when I asked her to smile.  Gorgeous!
Maggie has been enjoying eating her solid foods.  She is pretty picky when it comes to what she eats.  She especially loves Gerber Lil Crunchies (cheeto-type crackers), yogurt, and most things with banana in it.  When she is eating, she manages to rub her food all around her face and hair, making a very big mess!

Maggie has become an expert at pulling herself up on toys.  She LOVES to stand up and cruise from toy to toy.  Of course this means she has been having a lot of bonks recently, but she quickly recovers.  I have a very strong feeling she will be walking before her first birthday!

Maggie has enjoyed spending time in her Jumperoo and loves to jump and watch me while I exercise or work in the kitchen.
