Our Sweetie Pie

This past Christmas we gave grandparents framed pictures of Kate. One of Will's co-workers, Kellie Valdez, does photography on the side so we had her take pictures of Kate at the beginning of December. Here are some of our favorites...

Loscutoff gathering

Last night we spent the evening with Will's family and went to the Melting Pot to enjoy some yummy fondue. Kate did a pretty good job at the restaurant, but we had to leave before the chocolate fondue came out since she was getting very tired and a bit fussy. Below are some family pictures from the evening.

Loscutoff Brothers and their Significant Others

Kate enjoyed sucking on her dedushka's finger. He did a great job keeping her calm for a long time so I could enjoy some of the cheese fondue.

Once we were home from dinner Kate turned into a totally different baby. She went from being fussy, serious, and very tired to a happy, smiling, giggling baby. I think she prefers to be home with just Will and I since it is a familiar, comfortable and safe place for her. I wish everyone could see how amazingly cute and sweet she can be, but unfortunately that is not always the case. At least the pictures on our blog show how happy and goofy she truly is. :-)

Oh my goodness...she is too cute!

Kate was having so much fun in her Johnny Jump Up this morning that she tired herself out and fell fast asleep while jumping. I can't believe how cute she is!

Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! Will and I woke up at 6:00am and finished opening up most of our gifts before Kate woke up at 6:30. We felt like little kids again...all giddy to open up our presents as fast as possible. Will gave me a new washing machine for Christmas and I gave him an electric pressure washer. It is funny how as we get older we get so excited about getting practical gifts for the home.

It was so much fun celebrating Kate's first Christmas. She seemed to enjoy all the gifts and the excitement!

Kate actually helped open up her gifts, though I think she was more fascinated by the wrapping paper than the toy.

Kate was very excited about her new toys and books Christmas morning.

After we opened up gifts at home we went to my parents house for a delicious breakfast and more presents. Kate received these adorable sunglasses from Gramma and Papa in her stocking.

Boy, Christmas can sure be exhausting!
Kate received a very cool musical book from her Uncle Daniel. Not only does it make a lot of sounds, but it tastes yummy too. :-)
After breakfast, the 3 of us went for a really nice walk. Kate has finally decided that walking in her stroller is not torture. Up until the past week Kate would freak out if we put her in her stroller. Now she loves to sit in it and take in all the sights as we walk. It is wonderful not having to carry her in the front pack all the time.
In the evening we went back to my parents for dinner and more presents with my grandparents and sister's family. It is amazing how loud the house can get with all the kids opening up presents and playing with their new toys! We had a really nice time hanging out with family.
I think the best present of the entire day was Kate! It was exactly a year ago we told our family we were pregnant and now she is 5 months old. I absolutely love being her mommy...challenging at times, but very rewarding! Her giggles, cuddles, and smiles make it all very worth it!!!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we spent the afternoon at Will's mom's house. Kate greatly enjoyed talking with her Babushka before we opened up presents.

Kate spent some time in her Uncle Pete's arms...it was the first time he had held her since she was born.

Kate received a really nice snow globe from her Babushka. She was very fascinated by the snow and music.

On Christmas Eve night we went to our church for a candlelight service. We dressed Kate up in her best dress. People were raving about how cute she was.
Kate gave her Gramma a good luck snuggle before she went on stage to sing a beautiful solo at church. Notice the ruby red slippers...thanks Hazel for the hand-me-downs!

Kate was a little overwhelmed at church by all the sights and sounds. She was taking it all in on her daddy's lap.

Kate fell fast asleep on our way home from church. She took a long nap in her car seat which gave us time to make/eat dinner and for me to bake a cake. Even with her nap, Kate went down to bed at 8:30pm and didn't get up until 6:30am. It was wonderful early Christmas gift for mommy! :-)

Agee Christmas

We celebrated our annual Agee Christmas yesterday. Every year all the Agees get together to hang out and have fun...31 people total. My mom decided it would be fun to dress her 2 granddaughters in matching Christmas dresses for the occasion. Below is a picture of Chloe and Kate modeling their dresses.

Kate enjoyed being surrounded by all her cousins. My sister has such a cute clan of kids! :-)

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a mother/daughter picture.

Our family keeps getting bigger!

Kate enjoyed spending some time with Gigi.

Kate received a very cute knit cap from Gigi. Here she is showing it off.
Kate took a nice long nap in the arms of my cousin Emily. She looked very peaceful. Will enjoyed spending time with my brother-in-law Ben and brother, Daniel. They are so goofy when they get together.

New things...

I was at Target the other day and I came across a pair of baby Ugg boots. I couldn't resist so I had to buy them for Kate. She looks really cute in them, but they are a little stiff so I can't imagine they are very comfortable to wear for too long.

Recently Kate has been very fascinated with me drinking water out of a cup so I decided to give her a taste of my water. She loved the few sips she received so I bought her a sippie cup. I don't think she has quite figured out how to suck on the top to get the water out, but it made for a cute picture.

Kate is greatly enjoying the Johnny Jump Up she received from her cousin Chloe. We had another Johnny Jump Up but the spring wasn't very bouncy...this new one is very bouncy and Kate loves jumping in it!

Busy Day

Kate had a very busy day yesterday. She was practicing all of the new things she is learning to do. One of her favorite new things is chewing on a spoon. I give her a spoon every time I am in the kitchen eating. She has figured out how to get the head of the spoon in her mouth, though it is usually upside down. I think she will be ready to try solid food in no time.

Kate has also discovered her toes. She loves to grab her toes, especially when I am changing her diaper. She also loves it when I play "patty cake" with her feet or pretend to eat her toes.

Kate is now learning how to sit up supported. She loves to sit up in her bumbo or supported by the boppy. She even strains to sit up every time I place her on her back to play or change her diaper. Now if we could only get her to figure out how to roll over on her own...

Here is a decent attempt to take a self-portrait of Kate and me. I love her BIG eyes!

Does anyone want some drool?
"Look at me! I am sitting up all on my own!"

"Boy that sure was a busy day...Mommy is a comfortable place to take a quick nap."
