Kate and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family. Unfortunately Will had to work the closing shift at the pharmacy so he could not join us, but we made a special Thanksgiving breakfast for him so he wouldn't feel left out...monkey bread, sausage links, and scrambled eggs.
Here are a few pictures from our gathering with my family:

Goof Ball
Kate loves to make sounds and her new favorite thing to do is to sort of growl/grunt. Here is a video of us playing the other night and all the silly sounds she was making.
4 Month Check-up
Yesterday Kate had her 4 month check-up. She now weighs 16 pounds which puts her in the 90th percentile; she measures 24.75" long which is perfectly average; and her head is 16.5" round which is in the 75th percentile. The doctor said she looks great! Kate also had to get more immunizations...poor girl screamed louder than I have ever heard her scream. It was very sad, but necessary. Our only concern is that Kate has had a blocked tear duct since birth. This causes her eye to get pretty goopy. If it does not clear by 9 months then we will have to see an optometrist to get it surgically unclogged. We are hoping it clears on her own (which is very likely) so we won't have to put her through that sort of torture.

Our weekend in Tahoe
This past weekend we went to our cabin in South Lake Tahoe with my parents. Our drive to the cabin was probably the most terrifying experience Will and I have been through together. Despite watching the warnings from the weatherman, we decided to drive to Tahoe Friday night during a big snow storm. We figured it wouldn't be too bad since it is only November...well, we were very wrong. We were in white-out conditions with cars fish-tailing in front of us. We could barely see the road since the snow was so thick. We even started to sing "Amazing Grace" as we drove to help calm our nerves. Thankfully, by God's grace, we made it safely to the cabin. Our best decision of the evening was paying a man $30 to put on our snow chains. He completed the task in 2 minutes! Kate was a true champion and slept through the whole thing for 3.5 hours. Once we were at the cabin we had a very nice weekend. Will stayed for only 1 night and went home early with my Dad to work on his continuing education units while Kate and I stayed at the cabin until Monday with my mom. It was a very refreshing weekend...just what the doctor ordered.
Kate enjoyed hanging out with her daddy in her Bumbo after our long drive.
Mmmmm, we love to munch on our links!

more from Tahoe...
Kate had fun playing with her Papa in her Bumbo. The Bumbo is becoming Kate's favorite place to play. She can spend 30-45 minutes playing in it at a time.
The 3 of us girls went for a walk Sunday morning. My mom wore Kate in the Bjorn for the first time. This picture is taken before the walk, when Kate was still happy.
Kate was very unhappy after the walk. I think it was a little too cold for her comfort so she let us know how she was feeling.

Bunny Pajamas
Welcome Baby Zoey!
Yesterday at 11:50am our friends, Brenna and Derek, had a baby girl! (That makes a total of 4 baby girls in our bible study.) Coming 3.5 weeks early, Zoey Clare weighed in at 5lbs 5oz and 19" long. Brenna and Zoey are doing really well. Congratulations!
Zoey has her daddy's hair and hairline. You can't tell in this picture, but her hair looks like it is going to be pretty curly.
You would never know from this picture that Brenna has been at the hospital for over 48 hours. Her water broke Monday morning and since she was so early they kept her in the hospital to monitor her. They finally induced labor Wednesday morning and Zoey came quickly after that. Brenna looked refreshed and energized when we visited them last night.

Sing-along with Daddy
I know we have a lot of video of Kate making sounds in her bouncy seat, but this was too cute to not post.

Our Little Ladybug
Kate was a cute little ladybug for Halloween. She actually only wore her costume for about 5 minutes since it was too small on her (even though it was 3-6 months) plus she got too hot in it. Oh well...at least we got a picture. :-)
