The girls had a very fun Halloween this year. Both were so excited to clean out and carve their pumpkins. Kate spent over an hour carefully pulling the seeds out of her pumpkin. Maggie tried to help too!
Here is a picture of our family pumpkins. Kate's is on the left and Maggie's is the tiny pumpkin with the "M" carved in it.Our neighborhood held a Halloween Eve potluck at the end of our street, at the little park. There were a lot of neighborhood kids for Kate to play hide-and-seek with. It was a great time to get to know our neighbors better...we live on such an awesome, friendly street!
Maggie loves riding the little bouncy ladybug at the park.
Kate LOVES Cinnamon, our neighbor's dog from down the street. She especially loves throwing the ball for Cinnamon...she was so excited to see her at the potluck too
On Halloween, Kate's preschool held a Fall Festival with a costume parade, trick-or-treating around the church and lots of fun Fall crafts and games. Here is a picture of Kate's Marvelous Monkeys class...she is the pink and purple princess in the center.
Maggie and Gramma joined us for the parade.
Several church staff members were located around the church and passed out little goodies to all the school kids. Some were even dressed up in costumes for the occasion.
Best friends, Kate and Nicholas.
Happy Maggie with her Halloween goodies.
Kate showed off her costume to her classmates by twirling around in a circle.
I had the privilege of helping out in Kate's class while Mom watched Maggie for me. I assisted with helping the kids paint large Fall trees with vegetables as their paint brushes. The kids used artichokes to stamp leaves, asparagus to draw branches and corn on the cob to create bark. It was a very fun and messy project!
Kate enjoyed gluing glitter on her pumpkin.
After school we headed to our friend's house for a little Halloween party. Luke and Kate have been friends since there were 18 months. In this picture, Luke is the boy in the back with the orange and white shirt. The kids started the party off with some fun dancing.
Then all the kids made spider cookies out of Oreo's and pretzels.
The kids also got to decorate their own pumpkins with glitter glue, silly eyes, stickers, etc.
Maggie made a very goofy looking pumpkin.
Kate was very determined to make a hula girl pumpkin.
Pretty cute!
After all the crafts, it was time to line all the kids up for pictures and a small parade around the block. Luke dressed up as the Hulk.
Princess sisters
On Halloween night we kept is simple and went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood with just our family. (In the past we have done big Halloween party with friends and it has gotten too big and too chaotic with all the kids!) Maggie was Princess Rapunzel and Kate was just a beautiful princess.
The girls were SO excited to trick-or-treat! We were actually out for over an hour and the girls collected tons of candy. Maggie was so excited to see her bucket fill up with so much candy.
