We just finished a week off from school and work for Spring Break. We were super lucky to get Daddy for the entire week and so we took advantage of this rare occasion and headed to our family cabin in Tahoe. We arrived on Monday evening. It started to snow as we arrived and the girls were thrilled to see the huge snowflakes and even try to catch them on their tongues.
The snow kept coming and coming!
In the morning, there was about 6-8 inches of fresh snow. It was such a beautiful winter wonderland and the perfect setting for hours of snow play. The girls were chomping at the bit to get their snow clothes on and go exploring.
Rock sledding
Real sledding
Maggie enjoyed using the old fort out back as her make-believe house.
Maggie also enjoyed eating as much snow as she could stomach.
Snow angels!
Our snowman that Kate called "Bill Olaf Anna Elsa"
Snow volcano
There wasn't a huge volcano eruption but the girls enjoyed watching it drizzle down the side.
We also decided to dye Easter eggs while up at the cabin.
Wow!
It takes real concentration to not drop the egg and crack it.
We made about 30 beautifully colored eggs!
Our last day was Thursday and most of the new snow had pretty much melted away. We still tried to find some snow to slide down and play in. Even though the snow was melting, the sunny weather was gorgeous!
We enjoyed getting a close-up view of one of the beaver dams.
Mountain-babe. :-)
Our trip to Tahoe was such a wonderful and quiet family time and we hope to make Spring Break a yearly week-off for Will from here on out!
