Kihei, South Maui

The second half of our Maui trip took place in South Maui, in a town called Kihei.  We have never stayed here before in our previous 6 trips, but we wanted to try something different.  We found that we loved this location due to 2 awesome beaches on either side of the property and easily accessible stores and restaurants all around!  Our condo was on the 6th (top) floor and over looked the ocean and setting sun.  We spent every meal eating on the lani and spotted countless turtles while eating.  We will definitely be back to this condo again!

Kamaole Beach II (one of our 2 awesome beaches, 30 seconds from our condo)

Our lanai

Inside the condo, a beautiful Maui mural was painted across the living space.

Directly across the street from our condo was an amazing shave ice place.  There is something about Hawaiian shave ice that can't be beat!

One HUGE highlight of our Kihei stay were the amazing sea turtles.  We saw and swam with so many turtles of all sizes.  The girls followed this particular turtle across the entire beach until he headed towards deeper waters.  Both girls swam with at least 3 turtles at different times.  It was such an unforgettable and utterly amazing experience!

One night, after dinner, we headed to a local park in Kihei.  The girls were thrilled to climb and hang all over the park.

Will was pointing out all the numerous turtles to Kate.

Our favorite beach in Kihei was Kamaloe Beach II which is were most of our turtle experiences took place.

After numerous attempts for the perfect family photo....
...we decided to let loose and do some silly pictures too.

Turtles, turtles, and more turtles!
