Maggie's kindergarten class took a field trip to Impossible Acres pumpkin patch last Wednesday. The kids got to pet all the baby animals, play in the hay bale maze, pick pumpkins and ride on the tractor wagon. Maggie had a fun-filled morning!
Maggie loves brushing the pony.
Ready for the tractor ride!

"Hmmm, which pumpkin should I pick?"
This is the prefect pumpkin!
On Saturday, we went back to Bobby Dazzlers pumpkin patch in hopes to ride the ponies and cow train again. Unfortunately the mud was too bad for either so the girls go their faces painted instead. Kate was so excited to be painted as a zombie. She was quite terrifying to look at.
Maggie, on the other hand, was delighted to get beautiful pink flowers
Kate tried to be in character all morning, and refused to crack a smile.
On Sunday, we carved our pumpkins. Kate was determined to have a unicorn pumpkin.
Maggie wanted a sea turtle pumpkin.
I think our pumpkins turned out great! Both girls carved their entire pumpkin by themselves!
I carved the fish and mermaid, to add to the collection.
On Halloween morning, Maggie's kindergarten class did a zoophonics parade around the school. Maggie was Robbie Rabbit.
After school, the girls got into the their costumes to go trick-or-treating in Downtown Davis with one of Kate's school friends. Maggie dressed up as Princess Jasmine and Kate went as Princess Leia.
It was crazy crowded downtown with streets blocked off for all the pedestrians to cross. Police were out in force to make sure that cars and the enormous amount of people were kept safe. I think this will be our one and only time to attempt the downtown Davis Halloween experience. There were just too many people!
On Halloween night, the girls were excited to trick-or-treat around our neighborhood. Of course the rain decided to fall right as we stepped out to go. However, that didn't stop the girls from being out for about 1.5 hours and filling their buckets full of candy.
At the end of the night, the girls were cold, wet, tired, but so excited to sort their candy and compare what they got. It was a fantastic Halloween, despite the rain. Now we have enough candy to last the next year!
